About Us

Lola and Suzi are owned, loved, polished and driven by Wendy and Lesley.  They have the most wonderful attentive mechanic Bob Poole who always makes sure that they are running tickety boo!

Lola Wedding Hire was started after a few friends asked us if we would drive them on their wedding day.  Lola excelled herself and everyone  fell in love with her.   We had several more wedding requests from strangers on those days and so Lola Wedding Hire was born.

We believe that the needs of our brides, grooms and members of their wedding party are of the utmost importance. Our entire team is committed to meeting those needs and as a result, a high percentage of our business is from repeat customers and referrals.

Lola is Argentinian and she rolled out of the factory on March 1st 1961.
She is in wonderful condition and is a very unusual camper van with her double barn doors on both sides.  This gives brilliant photographic opportunities.
Lola was totally restored 4-5 years ago in Poole and then last year we bought her a brand new pristine interior with a sold oak floor and cream seats with pretty lemon piping.

She can seat 4 in total, 3 on the bench seat in the back and 1 in the front. There are lap belts in the back.

Suzi is a very unusual addition. She is actually a Suzuki made under a special licence from VW in Japan in 1998. She was then imported to Newcastle in 2015 where Bob and Lesley loaded her onto a trailer and drove her to her new home on the south coast.

She can seat 3 with 3 point seat belts but she only has little body and a little engine so prefers smaller passengers to suit her petite frame.

Lola and Suzi would welcome the opportunity to add a little something extra to your special day.
